About
Woodhouse Adventure Park is a 54-hectare outdoor activity and group-stay site at 37 Spring Gully Road, Piccadilly, in the Adelaide Hills, less than 25 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Owned and operated by Scouts SA, it sits on the traditional lands of the Kaurna and Peramangk people and is open every day of the year. Day visitors get the run of the property and a set of self-led activities: Woody’s Challenge Hill obstacle course, Cameron’s Climb, The Labyrinth maze, disc golf and orienteering. The Tube Slide runs on weekends and most public holidays. Trails from the site include the Heysen Trail and walks toward Mt Lofty Summit, the Botanic Garden and Cleland Wildlife Park. Picnics, barbecues and seasonal campfires are part of a day on site. Groups can add laser skirmish or a session at the Mount Lofty Adventure Hub, which covers ropes, climbing and abseiling, a zipline and a mega swing. Stays range from large group bunkhouses to smaller getaways. Old Woodhouse Manor, a heritage building from 1863, suits weddings and retreats; Rymill Centre is set up for conferences and school camps; Hooper Bunkhouse works for community, youth and family groups. Families and couples can book rustic chalets, pitch a tent or caravan, or stay in a pre-set bell tent. Overnight guests keep access to the activities after the day park closes, with seasonal campfires and night walks. The park is also used for school camps (from accommodation-only to catered and facilitated programs), school-holiday kids’ programs, birthday parties, sporting and community camps, corporate team-building, and weddings that keep ceremony, reception and guest accommodation on the one property.
