34 MacBeth Street, , Braeside, VIC
Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers is a small, family-run brewery and distillery in Melbourne’s south-east. Matt and Andrea Houghton founded it in 2009, first selling beer from the back of their car, then opening the Braeside site in 2012. Monday–Thursday: takeaways only: 10am–4pm. Friday: 2–11pm; Saturday: 12–11pm; Sunday: 12–6pm.
In 1989, Annie, Franco, and their children left behind the bustle of Sydney for the rolling hills of Byron Bay's hinterland. On twelve acres of rich earth, they planted coffee trees one by one, picked coffee cherries under the sun, processed and then roasted on a little 10-kilo Greek roaster that Franco had tweaked until it ran just right. Life on the farm was tough but honest. Franco poured himself into the craft of roasting and blending, chasing flavour and consistency with a roaster's patience. Annie made sure their coffee found its way out into the world, spreading the word, keeping the wheels turning, and delivering to cafes and retailers with her trademark and drive.

130 Barkly Street, Brunswick VIC 3057, Brunswick, VIC
Rocky Ridge Brunswick Brewhouse is Rocky Ridge Brewing Co’s first East Coast home. The independent, family-owned brewery started in 2017 on a farm in Jindong, Western Australia, with a focus on flavour and lower-impact brewing. In 2024 it took over the former Thunder Road Brewery at 130 Barkly Street, Brunswick, so beer for Victoria could be brewed on the East Coast instead of trucked across the country.
