Alpine Cycling Club

Alpine Cycling Club (ACC) is a thriving multi-discipline cycling club based in Bright in Victoria's High Country, bringing together riders across mountain biking, road, gravel and cyclocross. Surrounded by some of Australia's best-known cycling terrain, the club caters for everyone from juniors and recreational riders through to experienced racers and high-performance athletes. Mountain biking is a huge part of club life, with Mystic Park in Bright right on its doorstep. Alpine Cycling Club has been instrumental in the development of mountain biking in the area and continues to support the trails through advocacy, volunteer maintenance and events. Members regularly get involved in trail work, helping look after one of Victoria's most significant MTB destinations. There's a particularly strong focus on developing the next generation of riders. The club's Junior Mountain Bike Program runs during Terms 1 and 4, with coached groups based on age, ability, fitness and riding interests. Junior members can also access a dedicated Junior Road Bunchie, providing a pathway into road riding and group skills. The club even has road bikes available to loan at no cost for juniors who want to participate but don't yet have suitable equipment. For mountain bikers who enjoy racing, ACC runs a busy program that includes the Summer MTB Series, junior MTB racing, enduro and other MTB/CX-style events. Its 2026–27 calendar includes the Inverted Enduro, Dirt Dash, Junior MTB Series, Summer MTB Series and Bright Gravity Enduro, providing everything from grassroots racing through to challenging competition at Mystic Park. Road cycling is just as much a part of the club's identity. ACC organises road races and hill climbs throughout the spectacular Alpine region and is behind the iconic Tour of Bright, one of Australia's best-known amateur road stage races. In December 2026, the Tour of Bright forms Round 4 of the AusCycling Victorian Road Series, bringing U19, U23, Elite and Masters riders to the region. The club also works hard to make cycling more accessible and inclusive. Programs such as Ride Her Way have been created specifically to help women and girls discover mountain biking, build confidence and develop skills in a supportive environment. Behind all of this is a strong volunteer community, with members contributing to racing, social events, coaching, officiating, junior programs and trail maintenance. It's a club that isn't simply located in a great cycling destination – it actively contributes to making Bright and the surrounding High Country such a great place to ride.
