Central Highlands BMX Club

Central Highlands BMX Club is a friendly, inclusive and family-focused BMX racing club based in Emerald, Queensland, providing riders of all ages and abilities with a place to discover, develop and enjoy BMX. The club has been operating formally since 2016, growing from a small group of around 12 riders into a thriving Central Queensland BMX community. Based at 181 Opal Street, Emerald, the club has a dedicated BMX racing facility that received a significant upgrade in 2023, including track resurfacing, improvements to the start hill, drainage works and a new starting gate. Regular coaching, gate practice and Friday night racing give riders plenty of opportunities to build confidence, improve their bike handling and develop their race craft. New riders are welcome, and getting started doesn't necessarily mean having all the gear straight away — the club has spare helmets and gloves available and can help newcomers prepare their bike safely for their first sessions. Central Highlands BMX is also an active part of the wider Queensland racing scene. In 2026 the club hosted the opening two rounds of the AusCycling Queensland BMX Racing State Series, welcoming Mini Wheelers, Sprockets and age-group racers through to Masters and Superclass competitors. Whether you're introducing the kids to BMX, keen to try racing yourself or looking for a supportive club to take your riding further, Central Highlands BMX Club is a great place to become part of the BMX community in Emerald and the wider Central Highlands.
