Central Highlands MTB Club

Central Highlands MTB Club Inc. is a not-for-profit mountain bike club based around Emerald in Central Queensland, bringing riders together to grow mountain biking throughout the Central Highlands. The club has a strong community focus, welcoming everyone from kids and first-time riders through to experienced racers, e-bike riders and those simply looking for a social way to explore the region on two wheels. The club runs regular social and training rides, helping riders build skills and fitness while connecting with the local MTB community. It has also been actively developing riding opportunities in the region, with the Central Highlands MTB Club Trails near Tolmies providing dedicated singletrack and a home for club riding and events. Racing is part of the mix too, with Central Highlands riders competing across Queensland and nationally. The club's home trails have hosted rounds of the Central Queensland XCO Series, with courses catering for juniors, novice riders, open categories and masters. The club also encourages younger riders into the sport and has members representing Central Highlands at major state and national-level events. Beyond riding, the club is helping put the Central Highlands on the mountain biking map, working with local organisations and the wider community to develop trails and encourage MTB tourism across the region. It's a grassroots club with a clear goal: get more people riding, create more places to ride and showcase what Central Queensland has to offer. RTS TIP: Don't underestimate the riding hiding in Central Queensland. If you're travelling through the Central Highlands, connect with the club before you arrive — a social ride is a great way to discover the local trails, and you might find there's much more singletrack around Emerald than you expected.
