Club Mud Ballarat

Club M.U.D. Ballarat is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run mountain bike club dedicated to supporting and growing gravity riding in Ballarat, Victoria. Based around Black Hill MTB Park, the club plays an active role in maintaining and promoting the local trails while creating plenty of opportunities for riders to get together, ride and race. If gravity is your thing, Club MUD has you covered. The club runs shuttle days, social events, working bees and downhill racing, including summer Wednesday evening shuttles using its own buses and bike trailers. Funds raised through club activities are directed back into supporting the club and local mountain biking. One of the highlights of the calendar is the King of Ballarat (KOB), the club's three-round gravity race series. Each round takes riders onto a different track, with points accumulated across the series to crown the overall King and Queen of Ballarat. The weekends combine racing with a lively event village, food, giveaways and plenty of atmosphere. Club MUD also puts a big emphasis on developing the next generation of riders. Mini Muddies gives riders aged 12 and under their own downhill racing experience, from balance-bike riders through to seriously quick young shredders, while the club's Junior Development Rider program provides mentoring and support for juniors looking to progress their racing. Whether you're looking to race downhill, catch a shuttle to the top, help maintain the trails or simply connect with Ballarat's gravity MTB community, Club M.U.D. is a great crew to get involved with.
