Cooloola BMX Club

Cooloola BMX Club is a thriving, family-friendly BMX racing club based in Gympie, Queensland, welcoming riders of all abilities from young children through to adults. The club is a not-for-profit organisation focused on providing BMX riding and racing opportunities for the local community. Based at the Cooloola BMX Track on Byron Street, the club provides opportunities for riders to learn, train and race in a supportive environment. Regular club activities include beginner sessions, practice and racing, making it a great place for newcomers to discover BMX while giving experienced riders plenty of opportunity to continue developing their skills. Cooloola BMX is active at both grassroots and competitive levels, hosting local and regional competitions while also producing riders competing at the highest levels of the sport. In 2026, an impressive 32 Cooloola riders competed at the UCI BMX Racing National Championships, with riders ranging from just four to 55 years old and 13 qualifying to represent Australia at the World Championships. The club's Gympie facility has also received significant investment following flood damage, including track drainage repairs and a new flood-resilient amenities building with toilets, showers and change rooms, helping support the club's continued growth and ability to host events.
