Fat Tyre Flyers

Fat Tyre Flyers (FTF) is a long-standing Victorian mountain bike club with strong roots in downhill and gravity racing. Based around Melbourne and the Yarra Ranges, the club has been part of Victoria's MTB scene for decades and has helped create riding and racing opportunities at venues throughout the region. Gravity racing remains a big part of the FTF identity. The club has hosted rounds of the Victorian Downhill Series, including racing at Narbethong, and its members regularly compete in downhill events across Victoria and Australia. FTF has a proud record of riders progressing through the sport, with members represented across junior, elite and masters categories at the Australian Mountain Bike National Championships. The club has also had riders selected to represent Australia internationally, including at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. While downhill is a major part of the club's heritage, Fat Tyre Flyers riders can be found across other disciplines too, including cross-country, cyclocross and observed trials. In 2026, FTF member Joe Brewer claimed the Elite Men's Australian Observed Trials National Championship, showing the variety of riding within the club community.
