About this club
Helensburgh Off Road Cycle Club (HORCC) is a community mountain bike club in Helensburgh, on the northern Illawarra. The club is an incorporated association and welcomes juniors through to senior riders. HORCC runs regular weekly rides from the same time and place each week, plus a fortnightly Helensburgh MTB Social session on the first and third Saturdays of the month (except school holidays). The social session includes Little Frothers with mums and dads, age-group start times, and a race-against-the-clock option with a sausage sizzle afterwards. Entry is a small fee and riders need AusCycling membership. Club meetings are on the third Monday of the month at 8:00pm at the Centennial Hotel, Helensburgh. Everyone is welcome. Members get ride and event updates by text, email and the club’s Facebook page. The club has worked with Wollongong City Council and others on a track and skills network at Helensburgh Sports Field, including a wall ride and jump line. HORCC partnered with local bike shop Fornix Wheels on female training courses in 2025. In 2026 the club published a Fitness Challenge on 23 May and a race report covering rounds 1–4 of the NSW/ACT AusCycling State XCO Series. Members also travel to races and weekend trail trips. Membership is through AusCycling, choosing HORCC as your club. Existing AusCycling members of other clubs can add HORCC using the affiliated membership form on the club website. HORCC is volunteer-run and distinct from Illawarra Cycle Club and Wollongong Mountain Bike Club, which are already listed on Ride the State.
