Latrobe City Cycling Club

Latrobe City Cycling Club (LCCC) is a long-established cycling club based in the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland, Victoria, with a history stretching back through generations of local racing. The present club carries on the traditions of the former Traralgon Cycling Club, Moe Cycling Club and Morwell Cycling Club, which united in 1989, giving LCCC a cycling heritage dating back to 1934. Unlike many clubs on Ride The State, LCCC isn't focused solely on mountain biking. Its roots are firmly in road and track cycling, with generations of riders competing in road races, criteriums, time trials and velodrome events throughout Gippsland and beyond. The club has used facilities including the cycling track at Joe Carmody Athletics Track in Newborough, which has played an important role in developing local track riders. There's some serious cycling history behind the club too. LCCC riders have competed at state, national and international level, while the club has been involved in hosting and supporting significant cycling events through the Latrobe Valley, including stages of the Herald Sun Tour. Its long history includes Australian and Victorian champions across road and track disciplines. The club remains represented in Australian cycling today, with Latrobe City riders continuing to appear at AusCycling state and national-level competition across road and mountain biking. Whether you're interested in racing, training with other cyclists or connecting with the wider Gippsland riding community, LCCC provides a link into a cycling culture that has existed in the region for more than 90 years. RTS TIP: There's much more riding around the Latrobe Valley than you might expect. Use LCCC as a starting point to connect with the local cycling community, then explore the region's road routes, rail trails and growing collection of off-road riding. With Gippsland on the doorstep, it's an easy place to turn a ride into a much bigger weekend adventure.
