Lilydale BMX Club (Lilydale Lynx)

Lilydale BMX Club – home of the Lilydale Lynx – is a long-established, volunteer-run BMX racing club based in Lilydale in Melbourne's Yarra Valley. Founded in 1980 and incorporated in 1985, it's one of Victoria's oldest BMX clubs and has been helping generations of riders discover and enjoy BMX for more than four decades. The club welcomes riders from two years old through to 65+, from Mini Wheelers on balance bikes and young Sprockets through to adult racers, veterans and even retro BMX enthusiasts. There's a strong family atmosphere, with plenty of parents choosing to jump on a bike and ride alongside their kids too. Lilydale Lynx BMX Club calls its dedicated track on the corner of Anderson Street and Nelson Road in Lilydale home, conveniently positioned between the Coldstream and Warburton Rail Trails. The track was completely rebuilt in 2012, with its berms later asphalted in 2018 to provide a safer, lower-maintenance riding surface. There's plenty of opportunity to develop your riding, with gate practice, club racing and coaching forming part of the club's program. Coaching caters for riders at different levels, helping newcomers learn the fundamentals while giving experienced racers the opportunity to refine their skills, fitness and race craft. New riders are encouraged to give BMX a go, with an AusCycling four-week free trial available for eligible newcomers. The club also has some loan bikes and equipment available, making it easier to experience BMX before investing in your own setup. Outside official club activities and maintenance closures, the BMX track is also open for public riding, making it a great local facility whether you're racing with the Lynx or simply looking to get some laps in.
