Maitland Tenambit BMX Club

Maitland Tenambit BMX Club, home of the Maitland Night Riders, is a thriving, family-oriented BMX racing club based at the Beryl Humble Sporting Complex in Tenambit, NSW. With a long history in BMX and around 200 members, the club welcomes everyone from first-time Mini Wheelers and junior riders through to experienced racers competing at state, national and international level. The club's dedicated Tenambit BMX Track on Metford Road provides a fantastic home for racing, coaching and rider development. The facility includes a full BMX race track and start gate along with parking, toilets, spectator areas and covered facilities, creating a great environment for riders and families to spend time at the track. There's plenty happening throughout the week, with regular gate practice, coaching and Friday night club racing providing opportunities to build skills and confidence before putting them to the test on race night. The club caters for a broad mix of riders, whether they're there for some fun each week or working towards bigger racing goals. Maitland Tenambit has a particularly strong focus on introducing new riders to BMX. Its Come & Try program has grown significantly in recent years, supported by a fleet of loan bikes, helmets and gloves that helps remove the upfront equipment barrier for families wanting to give the sport a go. New riders can also take advantage of AusCycling's free four-week trial before deciding whether BMX is for them. For those with racing ambitions, Maitland provides a pathway well beyond club competition. The club regularly participates in and hosts larger BMX events, including rounds of the NSW BMX Racing State Series, while Maitland riders compete through to national and international levels. The club's development pathway has produced some outstanding riders, including Zane Bourke, selected for Australia's Junior Men team at the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships. Like any great BMX club, there's a big community behind the racing. Parents, members and volunteers help with everything from staging and gate operation to first aid, track setup, the canteen and working bees, making Maitland Tenambit as much a community as it is a place to race. Whether you're looking for your child's first taste of BMX, keen to jump on a bike alongside them or chasing your own racing goals, Maitland Tenambit BMX Club is a great place to get involved in the Hunter's BMX community.
