About this club
Murrindindi Cycle Club (MCC) is a community-focused cycling club based in Murrindindi Shire in Victoria's High Country, bringing together riders from around Alexandra, Buxton, Lake Eildon, Marysville and the surrounding region. Formed in 2009, the club caters for a mix of cycling disciplines, with mountain biking, road riding, social rides and trail development all forming part of its identity. For mountain bikers, MCC has played a particularly important role in the development and ongoing care of Eildon Mountain Bike Park. The trail network evolved from trails originally created for national-level cross-country and downhill competition, with club volunteers putting significant time into maintaining existing trails, creating new features and continuing to improve the network. Eildon MTB Park now offers around 18km of purpose-built riding, ranging from a beginner-friendly green loop through intermediate and advanced cross-country trails to challenging black-rated gravity riding. The network retains plenty of its old-school character, with narrow technical singletrack, natural terrain, off-camber corners and more challenging features for experienced riders. The club is also heavily involved in trail advocacy, construction and maintenance throughout the region. Regular working bees bring members together to look after local trails, while MCC has worked with land managers and other organisations on trail design and development. Its involvement extends beyond Eildon, with the Ride Marysville working group operating as a subcommittee of Murrindindi Cycle Club as the region works towards further mountain bike development. It's not all MTB either. MCC has an active social riding community, with regular mountain bike and road rides during the week, weekend rides and occasional destination adventures. The surrounding Murrindindi region provides plenty to explore, from quiet country roads and gravel routes to the Great Victorian Rail Trail and mountain bike destinations including Eildon, Buxton and Lake Mountain. There's racing for those who want it too. Eildon's technical terrain continues to attract competitive events, with Murrindindi Cycle Club involved in hosting MTB competition at the park. In November 2026, Eildon returns as the final round of the Joyride Rookie Cup downhill series in conjunction with MCC. Whether you're looking to explore the Eildon trails, find some local riding buddies, join a road or MTB social ride, get involved in trail building or line up for a race, Murrindindi Cycle Club is a great connection to the diverse riding available throughout Victoria's Murrindindi region.
