North West Mountain Bike Club

North West Mountain Bike Club, also known as North West Mountain Bikers, is a gravity-focused club based around Mount Borah near Manilla in northern NSW. The club has been the driving force behind developing Mount Borah into a destination for downhill, gravity enduro and flow riding, creating a very different reason to visit a mountain better known internationally for paragliding and hang-gliding. The riding at Mount Borah has been developed over a number of years, with the club designing and constructing a collection of downhill, enduro and flow trails catering for different ability levels. Expect fast bermed corners, natural and built jumps, technical terrain and gravity-focused descents, with many trails running relatively close to the mountain access road — handy when shuttle laps are the order of the day. The club runs regular ride weekends, traditionally on the first Sunday of each month, giving riders an opportunity to experience the network with the local crew. Trail development and maintenance remain very much a grassroots effort, with the club encouraging riders to contribute Trail Karma to help fund the work required to maintain and improve the trails. Mount Borah has also become established on the NSW gravity racing calendar. North West Mountain Bike Club has hosted state-level downhill and enduro competition, including Round 1 of the 2025 AusCycling NSW/ACT Gravity Series, which brought gravity enduro racers to Mount Borah for a full weekend of racing, shuttles and camping.
