About this club

Port Macquarie Cycle Club (PMCC) is a welcoming road cycling club based in Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast, bringing together riders of different ages and abilities through racing, recreational riding and skills development. With a cycling history in the region stretching back more than a century, the modern club provides opportunities for everyone from social riders and newcomers through to experienced competitors. The club's focus is not simply on racing — camaraderie, safe riding, developing skills and helping cyclists connect with other local riders are all important parts of the PMCC community. Road cycling is at the heart of the club, with members able to participate in road races, criteriums and individual time trials. Different formats and ability levels give riders opportunities to develop their fitness, bunch-riding skills, tactics and race craft while providing plenty of challenge for experienced competitors. A major asset for the club is its dedicated cycling circuit at Burrawan Forest Drive, Lake Innes. Nestled within the forest, the sealed circuit provides a controlled environment for criterium racing and cycling activities, with corners, changes in elevation and a finishing straight creating an engaging course for riders of different abilities. Beyond the criterium circuit, PMCC has access to an extensive network of sealed roads surrounding the facility, allowing the club to deliver longer road races and time trials. This combination of a dedicated circuit and surrounding road courses gives Port Macquarie considerable flexibility in the types of cycling competition it can offer. Junior cycling and rider development have an important place within the club. Port Macquarie has a history of introducing younger riders to competitive cycling and providing opportunities to develop through road races, criteriums and time trials. Club riders have progressed to State, National and international-level competition, demonstrating the pathway available for those wanting to take their cycling further. For cyclists who aren't interested in racing, recreational and bunch riding provides another way to become involved. Group riding allows members to explore the spectacular Mid North Coast, meet other cyclists and develop their confidence and bunch-riding skills in a social environment. The club also places an emphasis on helping newer cyclists learn about safe riding, race etiquette and basic bicycle maintenance, making PMCC an approachable connection to the sport for riders who may be new to organised cycling. Port Macquarie has produced and supported riders who have competed at the highest levels of the sport, while retaining the grassroots club environment that allows recreational riders, juniors, adults and Masters cyclists to share the same cycling community. Like most community cycling organisations, PMCC relies heavily on members, officials and volunteers to deliver its racing and activities, with volunteers contributing to everything from event setup and traffic control to the wider operation of the club. Whether you're looking to find people to ride with, introduce a junior to cycling, try criterium or road racing, test yourself in a time trial or develop towards higher levels of competition, Port Macquarie Cycle Club provides a welcoming home for road cycling on the NSW Mid North Coast.
