Roues Chaudes Cycling Club

Roues Chaudes Cycling Club (RCCC) is an inclusive cycling club based in Leederville, Perth, with a strong focus on road racing, rider participation and creating competitive cycling opportunities for people of different abilities. Established in 2009, the club was created around a simple philosophy: cycling competition should be challenging, enjoyable and accessible, with riders given opportunities to race alongside others of a similar ability regardless of gender. Roues Chaudes organises and promotes local racing for riders across different grades and experience levels, providing opportunities for developing cyclists through to experienced competitors. The club's racing incorporates the variety that makes road cycling so engaging, with members participating across criterium, road race and time trial formats. Riders also represent Roues Chaudes at major Western Australian and National-level road events, providing a pathway for those wanting to take their competition beyond local club racing. Women's cycling is a particularly important part of Roues Chaudes. Gender equality was embedded into the club's objectives from its early years, and the club has developed a strong level of female participation in both its membership and racing community. Women compete throughout the club's graded racing environment rather than being treated as an afterthought to the wider racing program. While competition is a major part of the club's identity, riders don't need to be dedicated racers to belong.
