About this club

San Remo BMX Club is a family-friendly BMX racing club based in San Remo on the NSW Central Coast, providing a welcoming pathway into BMX for everyone from two-year-old Mini Wheelers through to experienced riders competing at state, national and international level. The club calls the San Remo BMX facility at Extreme Sports Park, 2 Highview Avenue home. Its purpose-built 330-metre BMX track features a five-metre start hill, electric start gates, a durable polymer-coated riding surface and competition-standard floodlighting for night riding and racing. The facility also includes a canteen and commercial kitchen, accessible amenities, scorer's room and storage facilities. One of the great things about San Remo is that you don't need to already be a racer to enjoy the track. The facility is open for public riding when it isn't being used for organised club coaching or racing, giving local riders the chance to become comfortable with the track before deciding whether they'd like to compete. BMX starts young at San Remo, with Mini Wheelers from two years old using balance bikes on a smaller section of the track before progressing towards riding the full course. The club encourages newcomers to start on the bike they already have rather than immediately investing in a dedicated BMX race bike, making it easier for families to give the sport a try. Once riders are ready to progress, San Remo provides opportunities through coaching, gate practice and regular club racing. From there, riders can move into NSW Open and State Series competition and, for those with bigger ambitions, national and international racing. San Remo has developed some seriously talented riders along the way. Club riders have been selected for AusCycling development programs and competed successfully at national level across BMX and other cycling disciplines, demonstrating the pathway available for riders who want to take their racing further. The club also plays an active role in looking after its home track. While Central Coast Council maintains the facility, San Remo BMX members and volunteers assist with track maintenance, race preparation and improvements, with sponsorship, race entries, grants and plenty of volunteer effort helping keep the facility running. Whether you're looking to get the kids rolling on a balance bike, try BMX for the first time, join regular racing or work towards state and national competition, San Remo BMX Club is a great place to connect with the BMX community on the NSW Central Coast.
