South Eastern BMX Club

South Eastern BMX Club is one of Victoria's pioneering BMX racing clubs, based at Stan Riley Reserve in Oakleigh South in Melbourne's south-east. Established in November 1979, the club has been part of Australian BMX almost from the beginning of the sport and has a proud history of racing, rider development and major BMX events. The club's home track is located at 1051–1053 Centre Road, Oakleigh South, with construction of the original South Eastern BMX track beginning in 1981. The venue has remained closely associated with the club ever since, making it one of Melbourne's most historically significant BMX facilities. South Eastern became particularly well known for its legendary Cash Dash race meetings, which attracted some of Australia's leading BMX riders to Oakleigh South over many years. The club's contribution to the sport was recognised in 1993 when South Eastern became the first BMX club inducted into the BMX Victoria Hall of Fame. The track provides the classic BMX racing mix of jumps, rollers, berms and fast straights, giving riders plenty of opportunity to work on bike handling, pumping, jumping, cornering and race skills. Historically, South Eastern has welcomed riders across a broad range of ages and abilities, with an emphasis on having fun and developing individual riding skills rather than needing to be an experienced racer before getting involved. South Eastern has produced and hosted generations of BMX racers, and the club name continues to appear in current Australian BMX competition, with South Eastern riders represented in national-level results and 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championship qualification. The facility at Stan Riley Reserve also provides a valuable place for the wider cycling community to experience a purpose-built BMX track in Melbourne's south-east. Whether you're interested in BMX racing, developing your skills or discovering a track with a genuine connection to the earliest days of Australian BMX, South Eastern BMX Club is an important part of Victoria's BMX story.
