Suncoast Hinterland BMX Club

Suncoast Hinterland BMX Club is a family-friendly BMX racing club based at Mooloolah Valley on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, welcoming riders from young Mini Wheelers taking their first laps through to adults and experienced racers. The club calls the Mooloolah Valley Sports Complex on Connection Road home, where its dedicated BMX track provides a place for riders to develop their skills, train and race. The club operates throughout the year outside school holidays, with a busy program of coaching, gate practice and regular club competition. There's a strong pathway for riders of different ages and abilities. Mini Wheelers introduce young children to BMX on balance bikes, while the Sprocket program focuses on fun and skill development for riders under eight. From there, riders can progress through age-based Challenge racing and into adult competition, with opportunities to participate at club, regional, state and national events. New riders are actively encouraged to give BMX a go, with an AusCycling four-week free trial providing an easy introduction before committing to membership. Beginners can build their confidence through coaching and dedicated gate sessions before deciding whether they'd like to jump into racing. For established riders, there's plenty of track time available. Wednesday club gates include sessions for Sprockets and beginners as well as older riders, while private coaching operates throughout the week. Club racing is generally held on the second and fourth weekends of each month, switching between Saturday evening racing during the warmer terms and Sunday afternoon racing during winter. The club remains an active part of Queensland's wider BMX community, with members able to progress from local racing into interclub events and state, national and even international competition. Like most grassroots BMX clubs, Suncoast Hinterland is powered by members, families, coaches, officials and volunteers, with plenty of opportunities to get involved both on and off the track.
