Sydney BMX Club

Sydney BMX Club is a family-friendly BMX racing club based at Sydney Olympic Park, providing a welcoming pathway for riders to discover BMX, develop their skills and progress from grassroots participation through to higher levels of competition. Established in 2008, the club has grown alongside its home track in the heart of one of Australia's largest sporting precincts. Its central Sydney location makes it an accessible BMX community for riders and families from across the metropolitan area. BMX racing is at the heart of the club, combining speed, bike handling, jumping, cornering and race craft in a fast and exciting format. Riders can become involved from a young age and continue through junior, age-group, Cruiser, Masters and higher-performance categories, making BMX a sport that can be enjoyed across many different stages of life. Sydney BMX Club welcomes riders across a broad range of abilities, from people experiencing BMX for the first time through to established racers. Come & Try opportunities, practice sessions and club racing provide a pathway for newcomers to experience the sport, become comfortable on the track and gradually build their confidence. Developing BMX-specific skills is an important part of the club environment. Time on the track helps riders improve their gate starts, jumping, cornering, race lines, balance and bike handling, while experienced riders and the wider club community provide an environment in which newer members can continue learning. The club's home at the Sydney Olympic Park BMX Track provides an outstanding setting for both recreational riding and competition. The 306-metre track incorporates jumps, banks and berms and has been designed to accommodate a broad range of abilities, from developing riders through to experienced BMX racers. For riders interested in competition, the club provides a pathway from local racing into State and National-level BMX events. Sydney has hosted major BMX competition at its Olympic Park home, giving local riders opportunities to experience higher-level racing on the same track used by their club. The club has also helped riders progress into wider BMX development pathways, demonstrating that riders can begin within the local club environment and continue developing towards increasingly competitive levels of the sport. Despite those competitive opportunities, Sydney BMX remains strongly focused on family and community. Riders, parents, officials and volunteers all contribute to the club, helping deliver racing, practice sessions, Come & Try activities and events while creating friendships that extend beyond the start gate.
