About this club

Terrigal BMX Club is a long-established, family-friendly BMX racing club based in Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast, providing a place for riders of all ages and abilities to discover BMX, develop their skills and progress from grassroots club racing through to state, national and international competition. The club has been promoting BMX racing at its Duffys Road track since around 1982–83, giving it more than four decades of history within the Central Coast cycling community. Today the track is managed by Terrigal BMX Club and provides a modern, purpose-built home for training, coaching and competition. The track underwent a major redevelopment in 2021, with jumps reshaped, berms asphalted and a synthetic surface installed across the dirt sections. The works brought the facility up to Australian BMX competition standards, while also improving its durability and ability to cope with wet weather. Further investment followed in 2025, with a $210,000 upgrade delivering new LED lighting, a covered area beside the clubhouse, refurbished bathrooms and canteen, improved spectator seating and landscaped areas, better access paths, water refill facilities and upgraded drainage. A new finish line with transponder timing was also added, strengthening Terrigal's ability to host major BMX events with crowds of around 600–800 people. There's plenty happening on the racing side too. Terrigal runs its own club race series and gate sessions, while the upgraded facility regularly attracts larger competition. The club hosted the 2024 NSW BMX Racing State Championships and is hosting Round 6 of the 2026 AusCycling ACT/NSW BMX Racing State Series, with categories ranging from Mini Wheelers and Sprockets through to Challenge, Cruiser, Junior Superclass, Masters and Superclass. Terrigal also has an impressive competitive pathway. Club riders are regularly represented at the highest levels of Australian BMX, with Sienna Pal winning the 2026 AusCycling BMX Racing National Series Superclass Women's title. Terrigal riders also claimed multiple other age and Cruiser National Series titles in 2026, demonstrating the depth of racing talent within the club. Behind the results is a grassroots BMX community where riders can learn, train, race and become part of the wider Central Coast cycling scene. Whether you're looking to get the kids into BMX, try racing yourself, build your skills or chase state and national-level competition, Terrigal BMX Club offers a fantastic place to get behind the gate on the NSW Central Coast.
