Toowoomba BMX Club

Toowoomba BMX Club is one of Queensland's longest-established BMX racing clubs, based at Captain Cook Reserve in Wilsonton, Toowoomba. Established in 1978, the club has been part of the sport since the early days of BMX in Australia and today remains an active, growing and family-focused community welcoming riders across a wide range of ages and abilities. The club's home is the Toowoomba BMX Track at 1 Moran Street, Wilsonton, where riders have access to a purpose-built BMX race facility designed to be approachable for beginners while still providing plenty of challenge for more experienced racers. The track is equipped with lighting for night racing, while a club canteen adds to the social atmosphere around regular race meetings. Junior development is a big part of the club, but BMX certainly isn't only for kids. Racing caters for Mini Wheelers and Sprockets through to older junior and adult categories, giving families the opportunity to get involved together. New riders are encouraged to come along and experience the sport before committing, with the club also maintaining a selection of loan bikes, helmets and gloves to help make those first few laps more accessible. There's plenty of opportunity to get behind the gate, with regular club racing, training and Come & Try opportunities throughout the season. Club racing welcomes licensed riders from other BMX clubs too, creating a friendly local competition environment while giving Toowoomba members valuable race experience. For riders who want to take their racing further, Toowoomba has a proud competitive history. The club has previously hosted Queensland State Titles and multiple South Queensland title events, while its members continue to compete successfully at state and national level. That competitive pathway remains strong today. Toowoomba riders continue to qualify for major Australian and international competition, showing that riders can progress from grassroots racing at Moran Street through to some of the biggest events in the sport. Behind it all is a strong volunteer community, with members and families contributing to everything from race-day operations and the canteen to maintenance, fundraising and club improvements.
