About this club

Wagga Wagga Cycling Club (WWCC) is a family-oriented cycling club based in Wagga Wagga in the NSW Riverina, bringing together juniors, recreational cyclists and experienced racers through road riding, criterium racing, track cycling, coaching and rider development. Road and track cycling are at the heart of the club, supported by a strong racing culture and a welcoming pathway for riders wanting to become more involved in organised cycling. Whether someone is looking to develop their skills, experience racing for the first time or pursue higher levels of competition, the club provides opportunities to progress. A major strength of WWCC is its home at the Wagga Wagga Multisport Cycling Complex at Pomingalarna Reserve. The precinct incorporates a dedicated velodrome and criterium circuit, giving riders access to purpose-built cycling infrastructure for training, skills development and racing. Track cycling is particularly important to the club's identity. Regular training and racing cater for younger riders through to experienced adults, allowing cyclists to develop speed, bike handling, tactics and confidence in the controlled environment of a velodrome. Access to the club's bike-hire fleet also makes it easier for newcomers to experience track cycling without immediately investing in specialist equipment. The club has a long tradition of road racing, making use of Wagga Wagga and the surrounding Riverina's network of quieter regional roads. Different race formats provide opportunities for riders to develop their fitness, bunch skills, tactics and race craft while connecting with cyclists from across the region. Criterium racing complements the club's road and track programs, providing fast and tactical competition on the dedicated circuit at its cycling complex. Junior development is one of WWCC's particular strengths. Coaching and structured rider-development programs help younger cyclists build fundamental skills before progressing into training and racing. The club provides opportunities for developing riders to progress from grassroots participation through to State and National competition. New riders are actively encouraged to become involved. Trial opportunities and access to club equipment help reduce some of the barriers to experiencing organised cycling, while experienced coaches and members provide support as riders develop their confidence and skills. The club also welcomes recreational cyclists and riders whose interests extend beyond racing, creating a broader community for people who share a passion for cycling. Wagga Wagga's central regional location and strong cycling facilities have also allowed the club to play an important role in hosting significant cycling events, bringing riders from across NSW and Australia to the Riverina. Behind the racing is a strong community of riders, coaches, officials, families and volunteers who contribute to training, events and the ongoing operation of the club. Whether you're looking to introduce a junior to cycling, experience track riding, try criterium or road racing, develop your cycling skills or simply connect with other riders in the Riverina, Wagga Wagga Cycling Club provides a welcoming home for cycling in regional NSW.
