Western Sydney Cycling Network

Western Sydney Cycling Network Inc (WSCN) is a non-profit community cycling club based at Fairfield City Showground, Prairiewood. Established in September 2006 with Fairfield City Council support, it is affiliated with Cycling NSW and Bicycle NSW. Members ride local bike paths, drink coffee, and recycle bikes so others can ride too. The club’s aims are to promote cycling, provide a bicycle recycling service, offer education and a program of rides, and encourage a social, healthy lifestyle. Council provides the clubhouse and recycling shed. Shared goals are health promotion, waste reduction and sustainable transport. Rides include weekday, weekend and community rides for people starting out. All rides are free once annual membership is paid; everyone is welcome. Ride leaders include Bicycle NSW-accredited leaders with first aid. Riders who are not Bicycle NSW members are encouraged to join for public liability and personal accident insurance. The recycling centre at 443 Smithfield Road, Prairiewood (best entrance off Moonlight Road, next to Nalawala Hall) is open the first Sunday of the month 9:00am–12:00 noon and Wednesdays 9:00am–1:00pm. WSCN also supports Bicycle NSW events with volunteers and has delivered skills training in schools and community programs. 2026 membership is via the club form (annual fee published on the membership page). This is a social and community club, not a racing club. WSCN is volunteer-run. If you want a western Sydney ride community and a bike shed, Prairiewood is the place.
