Wyndham Warriors BMX Club

Wyndham Warriors BMX Club is a family-friendly BMX racing club based in Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne's west, welcoming riders from young Mini Wheelers through to adults and experienced racers. Founded in 2005, the club has grown alongside the rapidly expanding Wyndham community and provides a pathway into BMX for riders ranging from complete beginners through to high-level competitors. The club calls the Wyndham BMX Track at 115 Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing home, tucked into the Heathdale Glen Orden Wetlands. The purpose-built BMX facility features the jumps, rollers, fast straights and asphalt berms you'd expect from a race track, while still providing a course that developing riders can learn and progress on. There's plenty of opportunity to get time on the track, with regular Wednesday practice and Saturday coaching and practice sessions. The club has multiple accredited coaches and offers both group and private coaching, helping riders work on everything from fundamental bike handling and confidence through to gate starts, jumping, cornering and race craft. New riders are very welcome, with Come & Try sessions providing an easy introduction to BMX before committing to the sport. You don't necessarily need a dedicated race bike for your first experience either – a suitable 20-inch or 24-inch BMX with working brakes can be used, provided it meets the club's safety requirements. For riders ready to race, Wyndham runs a regular club racing series catering for Mini Wheelers, Sprockets, Novice riders and age-group racing through to adult and higher-level categories. Riders can then progress into the wider Victorian BMX competition scene, with Wyndham also participating in interclub and major racing throughout the state. The club has plenty of experience hosting big events too. Wyndham was home to the 2017 Victorian BMX State Championships, while its track continues to host competitive racing and visiting riders from across Victoria. In 2026, the Warriors are also part of the Best of the West BMX Series, hosting Round 4 in October. An exciting recent addition is new track lighting, with the Warriors holding their first club race under the new lights in August 2026. The improvement adds another dimension to the facility and creates more opportunities for evening training and racing. Outside official club activities, the Wyndham BMX Track is open for public riding, making it a useful community facility as well as the Warriors' racing home.
