Casey Fields Criterium Circuit
About this ride
Casey Fields Criterium Circuit is a purpose-built sealed cycling circuit in the south-east corner of Casey Fields, Cranbourne East, wrapping around the BMX track. It is a distinct venue from the live hub Casey Fields BMX card. OpenStreetMap maps named “Criterium Cycling Track” ways (sport=cycling) at Casey Fields. Melbourne Playgrounds describes a 2.2 km track, fairly flat with about 10 m of elevation variation, open to the public for free when not booked by clubs, schools or casual hire. Motorised vehicles are not permitted. The circuit was opened in 2008 as Victoria’s first of its kind; contemporary reporting quoted the then Casey mayor describing it as suitable for bicycle riders of all abilities, including human-powered vehicles, and able to be divided into three smaller circuits. 2026 EntryBoss fixtures show Eastern Cycling Club and Blackburn Cycling Club racing graded criteriums here. Blackburn describes a fully closed cycling facility for all levels, with a novice grade and a small loop for Novice and E grade. No single hub club is the exclusive home club (several Melbourne clubs race here), so associated_club is blank. Watch for BMX-precinct activity next door and confirm club bookings before you expect a clear lap.
