Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta
About this ride
Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta is Adelaide's newest national park, on the former Glenthorne Farm at O'Halloran Hill, about 16 km south of the city. Every trail in the park is shared between bikes and walkers. They're mostly flat, hard-packed gravel and designed for walkers, kids' bikes and people with accessibility needs, so it's a great spot for little riders. Loops include Footprints from the Past (1.3 km), Walking with Winaityinaityi (1.5 km) and Grow with Me (2.2 km), and there's also a 4 km trail loop. The big adventure playground and visitor hub has shelters, barbecues and toilets, and a mobile food vendor operates at the playground. For proper mountain biking, cross Majors Road to the O'Halloran Hill trails. Open 8am to 9pm in daylight saving time and 8am to 7pm otherwise. The park closes on Catastrophic Fire Danger days.
