Robbers Run

Robbers Run is a short, one-way gravity enduro mountain bike trail at the Thunderbolts Cave carpark, Black Mountain, on the New England Highway between Armidale and Guyra. New England Mountain Bikers’ where-to-ride page describes a blue-square intermediate trail about 2.3 km long, with about 200 m of elevation loss and about 8 m of climbing. It is not recommended for novices, but NEMTB says it is fairly easily rollable for beginning MTB riders with some singletrack experience. The trail mixes fast flow (some bermed, some off-camber), rocky descents, steep dips, doubles and jumps (all described as rollable) and tight twisty sections. The trailhead is at the Thunderbolts Cave carpark, reached via Thunderbolts Cave Road from the New England Highway at the top of the Devils Pinch. NEMTB asks riders to check notices and trail notes at the trailhead sign. Lat/lng are left blank: OpenStreetMap maps Thunderbolts Cave Road but no named Robbers Run trail or carpark feature was found. Do not pin the highway. Use NEMTB’s trailhead directions.
