Shaws Ridge / Blue Gum Swamp Loop

The Shaws Ridge / Blue Gum Swamp loop is generally ridden in an anticlockwise direction. It is mostly firetrail in varying condition, and while there are some steep climbs, it is generally achievable by beginner riders. The ride offers a beautiful forest floor atmosphere with towering Blue Gums and flowing creeks. Getting There Access the trail from the gate at the end of White Cross Road, Winmalee, where you’ll find a trailhead sign and parking. The closest railway station is Springwood station a 7km ride Optional Side Trip For those with strong legs, Bees Nest Hill (signposted off the Blue Gum Swamp firetrail) takes you up to the Springwood Ridge firetrail for expansive views over the Grose Valley from the Grose Head South Lookout.
