Old Willunga Hill Climb
About this ride
Old Willunga Hill is South Australia's most famous climb and a Tour Down Under institution. It's where Richie Porte won six consecutive hilltop stages. The Tour's Adelaide Bike Atlas measures it at 3.72 km at about 7% average, from Main Street in Willunga up High Street and Old Willunga Hill Road to the finish beside the feed store at Brookman Road. Climbfinder puts the steepest 100 m at around 10% and the top at 371 m above sea level. It isn't the state's hardest climb, but its weaving line and the crown near the finish make it a must-ride. Traffic is low but there's no bike lane, and Willunga township is your coffee stop.
