Tom Flood Sports Centre Velodrome
About this ride
Located in the heart of Bendigo, the Tom Flood Sports Centre Velodrome is one of regional Victoria’s best-known track cycling venues and home to the Bendigo & District Cycling Club. The outdoor velodrome has a long history of competitive cycling and regularly hosts track racing, training and major cycling carnivals. The venue is best known as the home of the Bendigo International Madison, an iconic cycling carnival that began in 1972 and has attracted high-level riders and spectators to Bendigo for decades. Track racing is held through the warmer months, with racing under lights adding to the atmosphere of this classic regional cycling venue. The wider Tom Flood Sports Centre includes grandstand seating, undercover spectator areas, public toilets, parking and a grassed infield. Bendigo & District Cycling Club also offers opportunities for juniors and newcomers to experience track cycling through its programs and racing activities. RTS TIP: This is an active competition and training velodrome rather than a casual shared cycling path. If you’re keen to experience track cycling here, check with Bendigo & District Cycling Club for upcoming training sessions, beginner opportunities and race days. If you're visiting Bendigo during the International Madison, it’s a great chance to see the velodrome at its best.
