About this club

Adelaide Mountain Bike Club (AMBC) is one of South Australia’s longest-running and largest mountain bike clubs, formed in 1989 to promote mountain biking as both a competitive sport and recreational activity. The volunteer-run club has become a major part of the state’s cross-country MTB scene, providing racing and development opportunities for riders across Adelaide and beyond. AMBC has a strong focus on cross-country mountain biking, running annual XCC, XCO and XCM racing, along with the State Championships. Events are held across a range of South Australian riding destinations, with Eagle MTB Park being one of the club’s key race venues. Eagle has played an important role in the club’s racing history, including hosting the inaugural Adelaide XCO in 2021 — AMBC’s first UCI international event. The club also has a strong commitment to developing the next generation of riders through its Junior Dirt Skills program, where qualified volunteer instructors help young riders build MTB skills, trail craft, confidence and good trail etiquette. Junior riders are encouraged to progress into club racing, with ability-based opportunities available as their skills develop. Whether you’re keen to try your first MTB race, chase a podium, get the kids involved or become part of Adelaide’s cross-country community, Adelaide Mountain Bike Club is a great way to connect with riders and experience some of South Australia’s best mountain biking — including Eagle MTB Park, Craigburn Farm and Cobbler Creek Recreation Park.
