Albany Cycling Club

Albany Cycle Club (ACC) is a long-established cycling club based in Albany on Western Australia's spectacular south coast, bringing together riders for road racing, time trials, gravel events, challenge rides and regular social cycling. Established in 1898, the club has more than a century of cycling history behind it while continuing to evolve with the changing ways people enjoy riding. Albany and the surrounding Great Southern region provide a pretty special backdrop for the club. Quiet country roads, rolling hills, coastal scenery and an expanding network of gravel routes allow ACC to run events across a variety of terrain rather than being tied to a single circuit or venue. There's a strong competitive side to the club, with an annual calendar featuring road races, handicap events, individual and team time trials and gravel racing. Courses take riders beyond Albany itself into areas including Elleker, Denmark, Nullaki and the surrounding Great Southern countryside, providing everything from fast and relatively flat time trials to challenging hilly road races. Gravel has become an increasingly important part of the calendar too. ACC runs dedicated gravel time trials and races, alongside adventure-style events such as Wild Gravel in the Stirling Ranges, giving riders another way to explore the region beyond the bitumen. You don't have to race to be part of the Albany cycling community. There is an extensive schedule of social bunch rides throughout the week, with different routes, distances and average speeds. Weekend rides regularly cover around 50–70km, while shorter recovery rides and weekday bunches provide plenty of options for riders looking for fitness, company and some local knowledge rather than competition. Juniors are welcome at many club events, and newcomers can use an AusCycling four-week free trial to experience eligible club riding and racing before committing to membership. ACC's focus extends beyond results, with the club placing a strong emphasis on fun, family involvement, fitness, safety and lasting friendships. Whether you're looking to join a local bunch ride, try your first road race, test yourself against the clock, explore the Great Southern on gravel or simply meet other cyclists, Albany Cycle Club offers a fantastic connection to the cycling community around Albany.
