AusCycling SA

AusCycling South Australia (AusCycling SA) is the South Australian arm of Australia's national cycling governing body, supporting the clubs, riders, coaches, officials, volunteers and event organisers that make up the cycling community across the state. Rather than operating as a traditional cycling club, AusCycling SA helps support and administer cycling across a wide range of disciplines including road, track, mountain bike, BMX racing, BMX freestyle, cyclocross, gravel, para-cycling and recreational riding. Local affiliated clubs remain at the heart of the cycling community, while AusCycling provides the broader membership, insurance, competition, accreditation and development framework connecting riders across South Australia. Road riders can progress through local racing and major series into the South Australian Road and Time Trial Championships, while track riders have access to an extensive racing calendar centred around Adelaide's track cycling facilities. South Australia's mountain bike calendar includes cross-country and downhill competition, with dedicated XCO and Downhill State Championships, alongside club and state-series racing. Cyclocross also has an established competition scene, including the SA Cyclo-cross State Championships and Crossfire Cup. South Australia also has a strong BMX community. Riders can progress from local club racing through the SA BMX Racing State Series and State Championships, while BMX Freestyle has its own South Australian championship pathway. The state's BMX facilities include the internationally recognised Sam Willoughby BMX facility, shared by Happy Valley BMX Club and The Cove BMX. Junior and developing riders can begin through their local clubs before progressing into structured competition and development pathways. State competition caters for riders from junior categories through to Elite and Masters, creating opportunities to progress from learning and grassroots participation towards state and national competition.
