About this club

Byford BMX Club is a family BMX racing club at Briggs Park, Mead Street, Byford, in Perth’s south-east corridor. The club has been part of the local community since the early 1980s, originally founded at Briggs Park as Pegasus BMX Club. In its early years the club hosted major events, including the 1984 Qantas Australian BMX Titles, which brought international riders to Byford. The club later folded in the mid-1990s and re-opened in the late 1990s as Olympic inclusion lifted BMX again. In the early 2000s the track was raced regularly by future Olympian Khalen Young. Today Byford BMX continues as an active AusCycling-affiliated club with a welcoming environment for riders of all ages and skill levels. In 2026 the club hosts Round 8 of the AusCycling BMX Racing State Series — WA at 20 Mead Street, Byford. Club administration is on TidyHQ, including public membership levels. Race licences are through AusCycling. The club’s site carries information on membership types, number plates and Kidsport. Byford BMX Club remains a volunteer community committed to developing riders and giving people a place to ride, race and belong.
