About this club

Camden Cycle Club (CCC) is a friendly and active road cycling club based in the Camden and Macarthur region of South-West Sydney, bringing together junior riders, social cyclists, regular bunch riders and experienced racers. With organised cycling in Camden dating back to 1899, the club combines more than a century of local cycling heritage with a strong focus on developing the next generation of riders. The club's modern home is the Narellan Sports Hub, where a dedicated criterium circuit provides a safe, traffic-free environment for racing, junior development and cycling activities. The club also makes use of roads and venues throughout the wider Macarthur region, taking advantage of the area's mix of rural roads, rolling countryside and challenging climbs. Road racing is a major part of Camden Cycle Club. Its program includes criteriums, traditional road races, hill climbs and individual time trials, with graded competition helping riders find an appropriate level regardless of whether they're relatively new to racing or experienced competitors. Regular criterium racing at Narellan Sports Hub provides an accessible pathway into competition without needing to race on open roads. One of the club's standout initiatives is the Camden Rockets Junior Cycling Program. Established in 2022, the program gives children aged six and over a safe and structured introduction to cycling, focusing on bike handling, cornering, riding around others and building confidence. More than 100 young riders had participated in the program by 2026, with sessions providing a clear pathway from learning fundamental skills through to junior road racing, time trials and criteriums. Importantly, kids don't need a specialist road bike to start with the Rockets. Suitable BMX, mountain bikes and road bikes can all be used, making the program considerably more accessible for families wanting to see whether their child enjoys cycling before investing in dedicated equipment. There's plenty for adults who aren't interested in racing too. Camden runs regular social and training rides throughout the week, ranging from relaxed, no-drop rides designed for newer bunch riders through to faster training sessions for experienced cyclists. Coffee stops and the social side of riding are very much part of the club culture. The club also has a dedicated focus on women's cycling, creating opportunities for female riders to connect through social riding, skill development and racing. Newer riders can build confidence in a supportive environment, while those wanting more competition have pathways into club and wider road racing. Camden's cycling history stretches back to the formation of the Camden Bicycle Touring Club in 1899, with historic records showing racing taking place around the district soon afterwards. Organised cycling has appeared under different club names over the decades, including the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club formed in 1993, before the modern Camden Cycle Club identity emerged. Today, the club continues that history with a strong emphasis on community, junior development, accessible social riding and competitive road cycling. Whether you're looking to get the kids confident on two wheels, learn to ride safely in a bunch, find a social road ride, try your first criterium or progress into competitive racing, Camden Cycle Club provides a fantastic connection to the cycling community of Camden and the wider Macarthur region.
