About this club

Eastern Suburbs Cycling Club (Easts Cycling) is a Sydney road and criterium club based in the eastern suburbs, with club rides from Bronte and racing at Heffron Park, Maroubra. Easts has been part of the social and sporting life of Sydney’s east since the turn of last century, training and socialising around Centennial Park. The club is an AusCycling member and offers race and ride memberships for riders of all ages and abilities. Values published by the club include community over ability, riding with pride in the Easts jersey, safety first, clear expectations, enjoying the ride, and striving for excellence. Tuesday Night Heffron is the club’s flagship race, run in daylight saving months (October to March) at Heffron Park. It is a unique handicap over 15 laps: A grade starts last and chases B and C. The series is in its 41st season and has seen riders such as Caleb Ewan and Mark Cavendish on the circuit. Entries are through Buncheur. The 2026 summer series ran in this format. Club rides leave from Albion Cycles, 302 Bronte Road, Waverley: Wednesday 6:00am moderate to La Perouse (~32 km); Saturday 6:00am medium to Sutherland (~55 km) with an option to Waterfall (~100 km); Saturday 6:30am moderate to La Perouse. Sunday rides are posted on the members’ WhatsApp group. Membership is through AusCycling. Members get insurance, race support, coaching on request, regular rides and social events. Easts is volunteer-run by an elected committee.
