Garigal Gorillas MTB Club

Garigal Gorillas MTB Club is a gravity-focused mountain bike club based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, formed in 2017 to bring the local riding community together while advocating for the development, formalisation and maintenance of sustainable mountain bike trails. The club works with Northern Beaches Council, NSW National Parks, landowners and other stakeholders to help secure the long-term future of mountain biking across the region. Trail advocacy and stewardship sit right at the heart of the Gorillas. The club supports and maintains local riding areas while pushing for a better network of recognised, sustainable trails. Its riding footprint stretches across Northern Beaches favourites including Mt Narra, Manly Dam, Terrey Hills, Bantry Bay, Belrose and surrounding trail networks, giving members access to everything from social trail riding through to technical gravity terrain. There's plenty happening off the tools too. The club runs the Garigal Gorillas MTB Cup, popular Wednesday night Fiver social rides, weekends away, social events and dedicated trail maintenance days. Younger riders are supported through youth development, Gravity Academy and Race Academy sessions, while regular women's social rides provide another welcoming way to meet riders, discover trails and build confidence on the bike. The Gorillas have built a strong community around giving back to the places they ride. Proceeds from initiatives such as the Fiver rides are directed towards trail advocacy and official maintenance, while volunteers contribute the time and effort needed to protect and improve the local network. Whether you're interested in racing, progressing your skills, helping maintain trails or simply finding people to ride with, there's plenty of opportunity to get involved.
