About this club

Lidcombe Auburn Cycling Club (LACC) is a long-established cycling club based in Sydney’s inner west, with a history stretching back to 1920. Known as “The Friendly Club,” LACC welcomes riders of different ages and abilities and has a particularly strong reputation for developing young cyclists across road and track cycling. The club provides opportunities for riders to experience several forms of road cycling, including criteriums, road races and time trials, alongside training and development activities. Riders can progress from learning the fundamentals of group riding and racing through to competing at club, State and National level. Junior cycling is one of LACC’s real strengths. The club has a substantial presence in junior competition and provides a pathway for young riders to build bike-handling skills, racing confidence and experience across multiple cycling disciplines. LACC also hosts the long-running Junior Tour of Sydney, bringing young riders together for road competition and helping support the broader junior racing pathway in NSW and the ACT. Track cycling is another major part of the club’s identity. Lidcombe Auburn riders are regularly represented in sprint and endurance events at NSW and National level, competing in disciplines including individual pursuit, sprint, keirin, points racing and bunch events. This gives developing riders the opportunity to complement their road riding with the speed, tactics and bike-handling skills that come from velodrome racing. The club caters for more than just highly competitive cyclists. LACC describes itself as welcoming new members of all ages and skill levels, with training rides and activities catering for riders of varying abilities. The emphasis on being a friendly and supportive club makes it approachable for riders looking to develop their cycling as well as those with ambitions to race. LACC has a strong record of helping riders progress through the cycling pathway. Its members continue to feature prominently in State and National junior competition, particularly on the track, demonstrating the strength of the development environment behind the club. While road and track are firmly at the heart of Lidcombe Auburn Cycling Club, its riders can also be found exploring other disciplines. Club members have competed successfully in cyclocross, reflecting the crossover that often develops from a strong foundation in road and track cycling. Like most community cycling clubs, LACC relies on the involvement of coaches, officials, volunteers, parents and supporters to deliver its racing and development activities. That community involvement has helped the club remain part of Sydney cycling for more than a century while continuing to introduce new generations to the sport. Whether you're looking to introduce a young rider to cycling, develop road-racing skills, experience criterium racing, discover track cycling or progress towards State and National competition, Lidcombe Auburn Cycling Club offers a friendly and well-established pathway into road and track cycling in Sydney.
