About this club
Noosa Trailblazers MTB Club is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit mountain bike club based in Tewantin on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The club brings together local and visiting riders while playing a major role in caring for and advocating for the renowned Wooroi mountain bike trails within Tewantin National Park. Wooroi is very much the club’s home ground. From the Wooroi Day Use Area, riders can choose from 11 official MTB routes ranging from easy through to difficult, incorporating well-known trails including Hovea, Indy, Glider, Secrets, Glossy, Bloodwood, Milk Maid, Trailblazer, Keelback, Turn 10 and Snake. The network winds through tall eucalypt forest, rainforest gullies and semi-heath country, with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service managing the area with assistance from Noosa Trailblazers. Trail stewardship sits right at the heart of the club. Trailblazers volunteers regularly get their hands dirty through Trailcare sessions, working under QPWS guidelines to maintain and sustainably develop the heavily used Wooroi network. The club also secures grants and raises funds for larger professional trail upgrades, with its popular Fiver Rides directing proceeds back into trail maintenance. There's plenty happening on the bike too. The club runs regular social rides, women's riding opportunities and beginner-friendly sessions, while the Wooroi Wildlings youth development program gives younger riders access to group rides and qualified skills coaching. Members also compete across XC, gravity enduro and downhill, from local events through to state and national competition. The club's growing Trailblazers Sisterhood also provides a dedicated space for women and girls of all ages and abilities, with a focus on confidence, skills, social connection and getting more women enjoying life on two wheels. RTS TIP: Wooroi is an easy addition to a Noosa trip — beaches and cafés one day, rainforest singletrack the next! Check what's happening with the Trailblazers before you arrive; joining a social ride is a great way to learn the network. And if you enjoy the trails, consider supporting the club or jumping onto a Trailcare day — a lot of volunteer hours go into keeping Wooroi riding as well as it does.
