About this club

Parklife Cycling Club (PLCC) is an inclusive cycling club based around Sydney Olympic Park, bringing together recreational riders, social cyclists, developing riders and racers through a combination of road riding, skills development and cyclocross. Established in 2016, the club has built a strong community around the idea that cycling should provide not only fitness and competition, but friendship, support and a genuine sense of belonging. Social and group road riding is at the heart of Parklife. The club offers rides catering for a wide range of abilities, from introductory and relaxed social rides through to faster training bunches and challenging longer rides. Sydney Olympic Park provides an accessible starting point for many club activities, while longer routes take riders throughout Sydney and into popular cycling areas such as Prospect, Parramatta Park and Bobbin Head. Parklife places particular emphasis on helping riders become safer and more confident in a bunch. Regular skills and bunch-etiquette development helps less experienced cyclists understand group riding, communication and safe positioning, providing a pathway for riders who may be comfortable riding independently but are new to organised bunch cycling. The club's philosophy is built around support, safety and inclusion. Different ride levels allow cyclists to find a group suited to their fitness and experience, while regrouping and introductory rides help make the transition into club riding less intimidating for newcomers. Parklife also has a significant connection with cyclocross. The club is an established organiser of CX competition in NSW and has hosted rounds of the NSW/ACT Cyclo-cross Series as well as State and Territory Championship racing. Cyclocross gives members and the wider cycling community an opportunity to experience a very different style of racing, combining grass, dirt, technical sections and obstacles in a short-course format. Women’s participation and development is another important part of the club's approach, with dedicated support for women within its club structure and riding community. Parklife also supports developing and junior riders, with younger cyclists able to learn from experienced members and progress into competitive cycling if that is where their ambitions take them. While Parklife has members who race, riders certainly don't need to be racers to belong. Recreational riding and the social side of cycling remain fundamental to the club, with many rides finishing with the traditional café stop and an opportunity to catch up away from the bike. The club is also strongly volunteer-driven. Members contribute to rides, skills development, racing and events, helping Parklife deliver opportunities not only for its own membership but for the wider Sydney cycling community. Whether you're looking to join your first bunch ride, build confidence riding with others, find a faster training group, discover cyclocross, develop your skills or simply meet more people to ride with, Parklife Cycling Club provides a welcoming cycling community in the heart of Sydney.
