Penrith Cycling Club

Penrith Cycling Club (PCC) is a welcoming and competitive road cycling club based in Penrith, Western Sydney, providing opportunities for juniors, adults and Masters riders to develop their skills, experience racing and become part of the local cycling community. With roots stretching back to 1976, the club has grown into an established part of cycling in Western Sydney. Road racing is at the heart of Penrith Cycling Club, with riders able to experience a variety of formats including criteriums, road races, individual time trials and handicap racing. Graded competition helps riders race alongside others of a similar ability, providing an approachable pathway into the sport while still offering fast and challenging competition for experienced cyclists. The club has a particularly strong connection with the Sydney International Regatta Centre, where its racing makes use of the venue’s smooth, closed-road circuit. With normal vehicle traffic removed from the racing environment, the circuit provides an excellent setting for developing bunch-racing skills, experiencing criterium racing and tackling individual time trials. Junior development is one of the club’s major strengths. Through the Penrith Kids Club, young riders can develop fundamental bike-handling, training and racing skills under the guidance of qualified coaches. Sessions combine skills activities with an introduction to racing, helping younger cyclists build confidence before progressing into the club’s graded competition when they are ready. The junior program is designed to be accessible, with riders able to participate on different types of suitable bikes rather than needing a dedicated road racing bike from the outset.
