About this club

Plenty Gorge MTB Club (PGMTB) is the volunteer-run club supporting mountain biking within Plenty Gorge Park in Melbourne’s north-east. The club acts as a custodian and advocate for the park’s extensive trail network, working alongside Parks Victoria to promote sustainable riding, improve trail access and help maintain a network that has been enjoyed by Melbourne mountain bikers for decades. Plenty Gorge contains more than 130km of trails across 1,350 hectares, with the Plenty River cutting through the park and creating the elevation behind its distinctive old-school cross-country riding. Expect short punchy climbs, flowing singletrack, roots, rocks, logs and plenty of technical features. The club runs regular social rides and trail-care activities, while continuing to advocate for the formalisation and improvement of MTB trails within the park. RTS Tip: If it’s your first time riding Plenty Gorge, joining one of PGMTB’s social rides is a great way to learn the network — there are plenty of intersecting trails and local knowledge goes a long way. The club recommends at least intermediate MTB skills to get the most from the Gorge, with its regular Sunday social rides providing a good introduction for riders with some existing trail experience.
