About this club
Satellite City BMX Club is the Northern Territory’s Palmerston BMX racing club, based at Marlow Lagoon Recreational Park. Founded in 1986, the club has been at the heart of Top End BMX for four decades and in 2026 marked its 40th anniversary with riders, families, officials and volunteers spanning generations. The venue includes the Spanlift Stadium, a covered BMX circuit built as part of a major upgrade. The club describes it as the largest roof covering over a BMX track in Australia, an important feature in the Top End climate. OpenStreetMap maps the circuit as Palmerston BMX on Kirkland Road, Marlow Lagoon. Racing continues in 2026, including club championship rounds and themed race nights such as Battle of the Build Up. The club has hosted events of national and international significance from a facility that began as a local Palmerston track. Come-and-try days are part of how new riders find the sport. The club’s own site points people to Facebook for current practice and racing details. Membership and race licences are through AusCycling. Satellite City is a volunteer community. Whether you are a Mini Wheeler, a returning rider or lining up in Challenge class, the covered track at Marlow Lagoon is the place to ride, race and develop in the Territory.
