About this club
South Coast Cycling Club is a welcoming and established cycling club serving Adelaide's southern suburbs and the Southern Vales, bringing together juniors, adults and Masters riders through road, track and criterium cycling. Formed in 1977 as the Noarlunga & South Coast Cycling Club, the club has developed into an important part of South Australia's cycling community, combining competitive racing with coaching, rider development and recreational opportunities. Road cycling is a major part of the club's identity, with riders able to experience traditional road racing alongside criteriums and individual time trials. Racing across Adelaide's southern districts and the Southern Vales provides varied terrain for riders to develop their fitness, bunch skills, tactics and race craft. The club has a particularly strong connection with junior cycling. Development opportunities help younger riders build their skills and confidence before progressing into competition, while the club's long-running Junior Tour provides an important road-racing experience for developing cyclists from South Australia and beyond. That junior pathway extends from grassroots participation through to higher levels of the sport, with South Coast riders progressing into State, National and elite development programs. The club's emphasis on coaching and development provides support for riders who want to improve, whether their goal is simply becoming a more confident cyclist or pursuing competitive cycling further. Track cycling is another genuine part of the South Coast identity. The club delivers track racing and development at Edwardstown Velodrome, providing riders with opportunities to experience the speed, tactics and skills of velodrome cycling. South Coast riders have a strong presence in track competition, with the club providing a pathway for juniors through to experienced competitors. Criterium racing complements the club's longer road events and track program, giving riders another fast and tactical form of competition. Together, road, criterium and track make South Coast a versatile option for cyclists wanting to experience several different forms of racing within one club. The club supports riders from junior through to Elite and Masters levels, while maintaining an emphasis on accessibility, equality and creating a friendly environment. Recreational opportunities also allow cyclists to become part of the community without competition needing to be their sole reason for riding. South Coast has developed riders who have represented at State, National, World Championship and Olympic level, demonstrating the strength of the pathway available within a community-based cycling club. Like most grassroots sporting organisations, the club relies on a strong network of riders, coaches, officials, families and volunteers. South Coast actively encourages members to become involved in officiating and other technical roles, helping ensure cycling events and development opportunities continue to thrive in the region. Whether you're looking to introduce a junior to cycling, try road or criterium racing, experience track cycling, improve your skills or progress towards higher levels of competition, South Coast Cycling Club provides a welcoming pathway into cycling in southern Adelaide.
