About this club

Southern Cross Cycling Club (Southern Cross Cycle Club, SXCC) is a Sutherland Shire club with a strong culture of inclusion, welcoming riders of all ages and abilities. It was established to provide skills development and a safe racing environment for junior cyclists in the Shire, and still places a strong emphasis on junior development, while senior men and women race in a relaxed, social club. The club races and trains at Waratah Park, Rawson Avenue, Sutherland — an off-road criterium circuit closed to traffic. Most club racing is graded by ability. Sunday morning crits are the regular club race; times can change through the road/track season, with updates on Facebook. The club also has a track-racing tradition at senior and junior level. SuperCrit is the club’s graded scratch-race format for men and women of all ages over four grades, from D through to A/Elite. Southern Cross has also hosted larger open crits at Waratah Park, including a round of the 2026 Sydney Soupa Winter Race Series, and promoted the 2026 Southern Cross Junior Tour (Northwave NSW/ACT Junior Series Round 4). The club is volunteer-run, with committee roles covering president, juniors, women’s coordinator, handicapper and more. Membership is through AusCycling; choose Southern Cross as your club. If you want a safe, closed circuit in the Shire to learn to race — or a Sunday crit — Southern Cross is the Waratah Park club.
