About this ride

Bayview Conservation Park, officially Bayview Conservation Area, is a huge bushland riding playground between Redland Bay and Mount Cotton, around 45 minutes south-east of Brisbane. Covering almost 1,000 hectares, the reserve has around 60km of mountain bike and shared-use trails, with everything from easy, flowing beginner singletrack to more technical blue-rated trails featuring roots, rocks, berms, creek crossings and punchy climbs. Popular trails include Birdcage, Chicken Run, The Maze, You’re Kidding, Sock Puppet, Doom Hippy, Shark Tail, Sorceress and Vegie-mite, with plenty of options to link trails together into anything from a family-friendly loop to a solid few hours in the saddle. RTS Tip: If it’s your first visit, start from the German Church Road main day-use area, where you’ll find parking, toilets, picnic facilities, a bike wash-down area and easy access into the network. Bayview’s sandy and loamy trails can be affected by heavy rain, so check conditions and closures before riding and stay off wet trails. With so many intersecting trails, having the official map or Trailforks handy is also well worth it.
