Black Hill Bike Park
About this ride
Black Hill Bike Park is a compact mountain bike network within Black Hill Reserve, just minutes from central Ballarat. Built into the steep slopes of the hill and its historic mining landscape, the park packs plenty into a relatively small area, with six cross-country trails, four downhill trails, two pump tracks, a skills area and an advanced jump park. Riding ranges from approachable green and blue trails through to steep Black Diamond and Double Black Diamond descents, with rocky terrain, jumps, technical features and fast gravity riding. The lookout at the top provides great views across Ballarat and is a handy starting point for exploring the network. Riders looking for a challenge can tackle trails such as Claim Jumper, Sluice, Alluvial and Open Cut, while the Green and Westside XC loops provide easier options for building skills or warming up. RTS Tip: Black Hill has some seriously technical gravity trails, so check the trail grading before dropping in and ride within your ability. Parking and a trail map can be found near the lookout at the end of Sim Street, with designated shuttle pick-up available from the Queen Street side of the hill.
