Bunya Mountains
About this ride
The Bunya Mountains Mountain Bike Trails offer around 18km of purpose-built riding through Russell Park, surrounded by the spectacular landscape of Queensland’s Bunya Mountains. The network includes three one-way MTB loops plus a shared-use trail, with riding ranging from easy through to easy/intermediate. Cruise the 4.7km Wilf’s Free Pass or 5km Oh Chute!, step things up on the 6.25km Serpent Spin, or use the 1.3km Wamga Way shared trail to connect towards Dandabah. Expect forest singletrack, roots, rocks, switchbacks and sections of steeper descending, with connections to picnic areas and lookouts making this a great network for riders wanting to mix mountain biking with a bigger Bunya Mountains adventure. RTS Tip: Make sure you check the live trail status before driving up the mountain, as the network can close following prolonged wet weather or for maintenance. Download the trail map before setting off too — mobile reception can be unreliable. Don’t skip the bike hygiene stations at the trailheads; they’re there to help prevent the spread of phytophthora and protect the Bunya Mountains environment.
