Cairns BMX Track

Cairns BMX Track is a dedicated BMX racing facility on Scott Street, Parramatta Park, just behind the Cairns showgrounds, home to Cairns BMX Club. OpenStreetMap maps the sports centre as Cairns BMX Club on Scott Street. The club’s own site (established 1978) describes a race track with spectator facilities and a volunteer-run canteen. The season typically runs from late January to early December, with Friday night racing in school term (weather permitting; Sunday if rained out). Tuesday gates practice is for Sprockets and aged riders; Friday nights start with Mini-Wheelers and Mini-Sprockets practice. All riders must be licensed through AusCycling; a free four-week trial is available for first-time licence holders. This is the club race track — not the public BMX jumps at Holloways Beach.
